Vulcan manufactures a complete line of accessories to adapt its hammers to driving all normally used types of piling. The maximum size of pile for each hammer is shown below. Vulcan configures its accessories in such a way that most all hammers with a common standard jaw size use the same accessory for a given pile. This adds to the versatility of Vulcan accessories and pile hammers alike. Some of the typical types and sizes of piles Vulcan carries accessories for are as follows:

Pipe Caps

These are normally supplied with three steps, although this number can be varied on request. It is necessary in any case to specify the outside diameter and wall thickness of all piles being driven.

H-Beam Helmets

These are configured for all types of H-Beams supplied. They come either with islands to align the beam or flat face.

Concrete Pile Driving Heads

These are sized for all sizes of standard concrete pile, whether square, round or octagonal. The deep well in these accessories accommodates the pile cushion necessary to prevent spalling when driving concrete pile. If there is protruding reinforcing bar coming out of the top of the pile a pedestal driving head may be ordered, which mates from between the hammer and the pile for the re-bar.

These are recessed in a way similar to concrete pile driving heads.

Sheet Pile Helmets

These are available for most configurations of American and other sheet piling.

The sizes above are typical; there is no guarantee that any hammer can drive any of the piles shown. Accessories for special piles are available, but special leaders may be required. Other types of accessories are as follows:

Leaders -- Vulcan manufactures various configurations of leaders for all Vulcan and Raymond hammers.

Cushion Material -- There are two basic cushion configurations, which are as follows:

Integral Ring Cushion Pot: This is a cushion receptacle that is one piece with the driving accessory. Vulcan can furnish Hamortex cushion material for these cushion pots.
Capblock Follower/Shield: These contain a taller cushion stack than the integral rings, and generally use alternately stacked Micarta and aluminium capblock plates. Vulcan can also furnish the capblock followers/shields and all necessary plates for using Micarta and aluminium.
Other Accessories -- Vulcan can also furnish such accessories as steam or air hose and line oilers.
